Matt Sorum ponders marriage as he unveils Darling Stilettos show

Four of the sexiest singer-dancers are off on a rock-and-sex-fueled journey through the history of rock music thanks to their legendary guru Matt Sorum, drummer of Velvet Revolver, The Cult and Guns ’N’ Roses fame.

Matt’s love match with lead singer Ace Harper led to the creation of the Darling Stilettos, who track rock from the early days of the first British invasion to punk and the classic rock through the 1970s and ’80s. Matt showcases the glamour girls tonight and tomorrow in free concerts at the Palms.

The Darling Stilettos also will perform in early January at the Las Vegas Hilton in another showcase.

“We’re looking for a regular home here in Vegas,” Matt told me yesterday. “The Rock ’n’ Roll A Go Go show is a natural for Las Vegas. It belongs here. People will make comparisons with the Pussycat Dolls, obviously, but we’re a full-blown, way-out-there rock ’n’ roll show with a story. The girls sing, they dance, and there are costume changes throughout the show. I have my drums, and we have a guitarist to accompany them.”

Palms Entertainment Vice President Michael Greco confirmed that the showcase is an audition to see if the show will work at one of the Palms’ venues. He said: “We’re looking hard to see if this will work in one of our nightclub venues or in another room. Matt Goss was off this weekend from his lounge, so we thought this was the perfect time for the showcase. To stop any rumors, let me say Matt is signed with us to continue on in his lounge.

“We’re excited to have Matt (Sorum), who is such a big name in music, showcase his new project here at the Palms. We’ve always brought the most cutting-edge entertainment to the city and look forward to having our guests out for a weekend of great rock and roll.”

Both tonight and tomorrow’s shows will start at 11 p.m. after Lady Gaga’s show this evening and World Extreme Cagefighting 45 tomorrow. The buzz is that Lady Gaga and other surprise celebrity guests will be at the debut shows.

Ace, who founded the Darling Stilettos, has been dating Matt for nearly five years. “We’re great together,” Matt told me. “I really wanted to support her vision because it’s so solid. She’s a great singer and dancer, so to accompany her with classic rock is a real thrill. They put on a hot, sexy, out-of-control, full rock show that will knock you on your ass. It’s a fully choreographed production. I have to stay on them to keep them in good shape for it. This is all disciplined and not the aftermath of a drunken party.”

The Stilettos also comprise rocker chicks Gina, Lindsey and Allie. “They’ve got all the elements of rock,” Matt continued. “Rebellion, swagger and talent, so the edgy, defiant sounds have been perfected. Now add in the strong dose of sexuality, and that adds an essential and long overdue element. They’re bringing rock back into the female world inspired by Joan Jett and Chrissie Hynde. They’re telling a whole new generation of young women that it’s OK to rock and feel sexy simultaneously.”

Matt admitted that he and Ace have talked about their longtime relationship. “We’re fully committed. I couldn’t find anyone better. So next year may well be the year we actually get married. We’ve talked about it, and we’re both ready for that.

“Hey, Robin, if you get a minister’s license, you could marry us right here in Vegas! Now that would be a blast. This is the city of weddings for rockers! And think of the rock and roll party afterward.”

Ebbene Matt e Ace, che stanno insieme da 5 anni, quasi sicuramente si sposeranno il prossimo anno, secondo quanto detto da Matt " ci troviamo meravigliosamente assieme, non potevo trovare nessun' altra migliore. Il prossimo anno sarà l' anno in cui ci potremmo sposare. Ne abbiamo parlato e siamo pronti entrambi per farlo"!
Sembra che i due stiano cercando casa a Las Vegas, perché perfetta per gli show delle Darling Stilettos.

Happy Holidays from Slash
Greetings enthusiasts, how is everybody doing this festive season? All's well over here in the City of Bangles. I'll be Staying in town for the holidays, but I'm doing a poker tourney in the Bahamas 1st week of January, which is a benefit for "The Foundation for AIDs Research," or AMFAR. It should be a cool trip & it’s for an important cause.

The mastering session of my solo record is done. We did it at Sterling Sound with George Marino, who is hands down the most genius mastering engineer I've ever worked with. He is the perfect engineer to best bring out the dynamic nuances of the analog recording & I'm ecstatic with the results.
Although, it is not in my nature to brag about how good the performances are or how good the songs are, I will say, between Eric Valentine & George Marino it is a fucking great sounding record.

We are now in the process of mixing the special bonus tracks which should be done next week. Then, we will master those & be done with the whole recording, mixing, mastering process.

I should be signing a US distribution deal in the coming days, I will announce who with as soon as I do. We're still looking at an April release so far.

I'll be at the NAMM show next year announcing the New "Slash model" Marshall, as well as a new signature Les Paul & a signature set of Seymour Duncan pick ups, all of which will be available early in the new year. I played the new "Slash model" prototype with the new Seymour Duncan pick ups at the KLOS Christmas Show at the Nokia recently & they sound fantastic. The performance was a little loose, but the guitar sounded great ; )

Slash dice che la masterizzazione del disco è completata, e che è veramente molto soddisfatto del lavoro fatto dall' ingegniere del suono, George Marino.
Stanno mixando alcune canzoni bonus, che saranno completate a gg, poi le masterizzeranno ed il disco sarà completo.

Firmerà un accordo per la distribuzione negli USA e sceglieranno la data di aprile per la pubblicazione del disco.

Sarà allo show del NAMM l'anno prossimo, per annunciare il nuovo modello "Slash" della Marshall, quello nuovo della Les Paul ed un set signature di pick up Seymour Duncan, che saranno tutti in vendita dai primi mesi dell'anno. Il prototipo del nuovo modello della Marshall l'ha usato con i pick up Seymour Duncan al KLOS Christmas Show e si ritiene molto soddisfatto del suono.

IMV, a Los Angeles-based producer of interactive music content and video game systems, has set a January 19, 2010 release date for original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley's "Behind the Player" DVD.

In his IMV "Behind the Player" DVD, Frehley gives an intimate behind-the scenes look at his life as a professional musician, including rare video footage. Frehley then gives in-depth lessons for how to play "Shock Me" and "Cold Gin" and jams the tracks with special guest musicians, including Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER), John 5 (ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON), Chris Wyse (THE CULT), Tommy Clufetos (TED NUGENT, ALICE COOPER, ROB ZOMBIE) and George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB).

"Video Tab" shows exactly how Frehley plays the two tracks. The video-game-style animated tablature is similar to Guitar Hero, but shows how to play the tracks for real.

Duff sarà on stage per il rotosound boom organizzato dalla NAMM ad Anheim in california il prossimo 16 gennaio 2010.

oltre a Duff a prendere parte all' evento, che non sarà pubblico ma riservato ai soli membri della NAMM (associazione riguardante gli addetti ai lavori del mercato musicale americano), troveremo anche James Lomenzo, Eva Gardner, Billy Sheehan e i RATT.

Si allarga la famiglia Kushner, dopo la nascita del primo figlio Waylon avvenuta lo scorso anno, la moglie di Dave, Christine Kushner, è in dolce attesa per la seconda volta.

a rivelarlo è stata l' ex moglie di Scott Weiland che lo ha dichiarato durante un intervista per promuovere il suo libro biografico.

Slash e altre 150 leggende della chitarra elettrica sono state immortalate dal famoso fotografo Neil Zlozower. il libro dal titolo "six strings heroes" raccoglie le immagini di molte leggende del mondo del rock tra cui anche Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, Paul Gilbert, Bruce Kulick e Dave "The Snake" Sabo.

sabato scorso 5 dicembre i chitarristi sopra nominati erano presenti alla signing session del libro di Zlozower ad Hollywood!
